Three mandatory inspections for mini crawler cranes in Australia

Lincer provides brand-independent inspection and service for all major mini crawler crane brands. Our team works across the full range of models currently operating in the Australian market. In addition to electric versions of each brand, we service the following:

Quarterly

A quarterly inspection must be performed every 3 months or at the manufacturer's specified operating-hour interval, whichever occurs first. This mandatory inspection covers safety-critical systems, including structural integrity, hydraulics, slew mechanisms, wire ropes, hooks, and safety devices.Lincer can schedule inspections around your operational calendar to help minimise downtime while ensuring your equipment remains compliant, safe, and ready for service.

Annual

The annual CraneSafe inspection is a comprehensive assessment carried out once per year by an independent third party. It includes all items covered during the quarterly inspections, together with a more detailed examination of wear components, load-bearing structures, safety systems, and documentation requirements.Lincer can facilitate the CraneSafe inspection process, coordinate any required repairs or rectification work, and return a fully compliant crane ready for service.

Major

A major inspection is a comprehensive assessment carried out when a crane reaches 10 years from its date of manufacture, in accordance with Australian Standard AS 2550.1, Section 7.3.5. The purpose of the inspection is to verify the crane's ongoing safety, structural integrity, and suitability for continued operation. The inspection involves a detailed examination of all structural, mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components and may require the disassembly of key systems to allow for a thorough assessment. Major inspections are critical for identifying fatigue, hidden damage, corrosion, cracking, and component wear that may not be detectable during routine inspections or annual assessments.Following the inspection, any required repairs, testing, or component replacements must be completed before the crane can be returned to service. Lincer can manage the entire major inspection process, coordinate specialist testing where required, and return a fully compliant crane ready for continued operation.

CraneSafe green sticker

All mini crawler cranes operating on Australian work sites are required to display a valid CraneSafe green sticker. Obtaining the green sticker requires a separate CraneSafe inspection, which many crane owners find time-consuming and logistically difficult to coordinate on top of their existing inspection schedule.

Lincer removes this burden. As a mediator, Lincer books and manages the CraneSafe inspection process on behalf of our customers after each qualifying crane inspection. Rather than chasing a separate booking, your crane goes through the Lincer inspection process and Lincer handles the CraneSafe pathway from start to green sticker.

Crack testing

Crack testing is a non-destructive testing (NDT) procedure required for mini crawler cranes under local Australian standards. The process uses specialised techniques to inspect the crane's structural components for cracks, fatigue, or stress fractures that could compromise safe operation — damage that is often not visible during a standard visual inspection.

Lincer acts as the mediator for the crack testing process. We coordinate and book a specialised external crack testing team who comes directly to our Thomastown workshop to carry out the procedure.

All three apply to mini crawler cranes operating on Australian work sites.

Yes. Lincer is a CraneSafe mediator. Lincer services electric versions of all mini crawler crane brands including Maeda, Unic, Jekko, and Hoeflon.
