Hoeflon servicing FAQ

Straight answers to what owners and site teams ask us most. Can’t see yours?

They are the same type of machine. “Spider crane” comes from the fold-out outriggers, “mini crawler crane” is the formal term, and Hoeflon calls its range “compact cranes”. All are small tracked cranes built to lift in tight, indoor or hard to reach spaces.

Follow Hoeflon’s service schedule for your model and machine hours, and have a competent person inspect the crane at least once a year. Cranes working hard or on demanding sites may need shorter intervals. We set up a plan around your hours and keep the records for your logbook.

A major inspection is a full check of every critical component of the crane, stripping it down where needed. Cranes need a major inspection every 10 years from when they were first commissioned. We’ll let you know when your Hoeflon is due and keep the records for your logbook.

Yes. Our technicians can inspect and repair your Hoeflon on site across Melbourne and Victoria, which keeps downtime short. Bigger repairs and rebuilds are done in our workshop at Thomastown.

Yes. We source genuine parts for every model in the range, from seals and wear items to track and slewing components. Tell us your model and serial number and we’ll confirm availability and lead time.

Charge after each shift rather than running the battery flat, keep the charger and connectors clean and dry, and store the crane charged when it is not in use. A yearly battery and charger health check picks up weak cells before they stop a job.

The C6e is the usual choice for glazing and curtain wall, with 3,000 kg capacity and adjustable hydraulic outriggers for uneven ground. For higher facades, the C10e reaches 22 m. Pairing either with a vacuum lifter gives safer, more precise glass placement.

Yes. Hoeflon cranes work with vacuum glass lifters for glazing and panel installation. As the official OKTOPUS® distributor for Australia and New Zealand, we can help you match the right lifter to your crane and load.

Yes. Alongside Hoeflon, we inspect and repair mini crawler cranes from other manufacturers, plus vacuum lifters, hoists and other lifting equipment. One service partner for the whole kit keeps records and scheduling simple.
